Brass Solar Banquet Lamp with Etched Frosted Shade - A late 19th century brass solar banquet lamp featuring an ornate Rococo Revival tripod base with scrolling acanthus decoration, shell motifs, and paw-form feet. The cast standard supports a period frosted and wheel-cut glass shade decorated with engraved floral sprays and applied raised dot ornamentation, above a clear collar and flared neck. The lamp retains its original oil configuration and has not been electrified. The substantial casting, decorative vocabulary, and correct solar construction place this example solidly in the third quarter of the 19th century. 25.5 in. H; 6.5 in. fitter diameter. Condition: Surface wear and natural patina to brass consistent with age. Shade appears free of major cracks or repairs; minor surface abrasions present. Burner present; functionality untested.
