19th Century English Carved Mahogany Chest-on-Chest - A handsome and well-proportioned 19th century English chest-on-chest, crafted in richly figured mahogany and displaying the restrained architectural elegance associated with Georgian and early Victorian design. The case is fitted with eight graduated drawers, including two short drawers over six long drawers, each retaining its original-style brass ring pulls mounted on circular backplates. The upper section is surmounted by a bold cornice with carved dentil molding, giving the piece a commanding presence suitable for a formal bedroom, library, or refined hall setting. The whole rests on shaped bracket feet, completing the classic English silhouette. 78 in H, 47 in W, 22 in D.
