Primitive Cherry Corner Cabinet, Two-Piece, Early 19th Century - A substantial and well-preserved American primitive corner cabinet constructed in cherry, composed of two stacked sections. The upper case fitted with paneled double doors opening to a shaped interior with three fixed corner shelves, while the lower case features paneled double doors enclosing additional shaped shelving for storage. The cabinet exhibits pleasing proportions, a molded cornice, paneled sides, and rests on bracket feet. The reverse with wide vertical plank boards retaining an early surface, consistent with period construction. Hardware appears original or early, with wrought and cast elements throughout. Rich, warm surface with visible hand-planed marks and honest wear commensurate with age, contributing to its strong folk character and authenticity. 87 in. H, 31 in. W, 19 in. D.
