Early American Drawer-Leaf Dining Table, ca. 1830-1850 - Early American drawer-leaf dining table featuring a substantial rectangular plank top with breadboard-style ends and deep overhang, retaining an exceptionally desirable worn mustard-yellow painted base with rich natural patina from age and use. The table rests on four boldly turned baluster legs terminating in original small iron casters, suggesting mobility typical of 19th century dining and work tables. Each end contains a pull-out drawer-leaf extension, allowing the top to expand for additional serving or dining surface. The scrubbed pine top displays generations of honest wear, darkened grain, and surface character consistent with early rural American construction.
