Victorian Wave Crest Glass Bowl with Gilt Brass Mounts, C.F. Monroe Co., Meriden, Connecticut - A fine Victorian Wave Crest art glass bowl featuring a pale custard satin ground with hand-painted floral decoration in soft blue, pink, and gilt highlights. The bowl is mounted with an ornate gilt brass rim with beaded border and elaborate scrolling pierced handles to either side. The interior displays the characteristic translucent yellow shading associated with Wave Crest glass, stamped on bottom and produced by C. F. Monroe Co., circa 1890–1910. Approximately 3 in. H, 9 in. Dia (handle to handle slightly wider). Condition: Light surface wear consistent with age. Mounts show expected patina. No visible cracks; minor interior wear and faint surface marks typical of use.
