Renaissance Revival Carved Walnut Dining Chairs, Set of Eight with Additional Fabric Bolt - Impressive set of eight Renaissance Revival style dining chairs, 19th century, crafted in dark-stained walnut and richly carved with scrolling foliate crests, turned and block supports, and shaped backs. The tall backs are crowned with pierced and molded crest rails featuring symmetrical scrollwork, while the armchairs (2) display boldly carved scrolled arms terminating in volutes. The seats and backs are upholstered in a gold-tone fabric with an ornate scrolling floral and foliate pattern, complementing the dramatic carved frames. The chairs rest on turned front legs joined by shaped and scrolled stretchers, adding both stability and visual interest. Included with the set is an additional bolt of matching upholstery fabric, allowing for future restoration or continued coordinated use.
