French Painted and Giltwood Mirror with Floral Swags, 19th Century - Large French-style painted and giltwood wall mirror, featuring a rectangular beveled plate within a molded frame decorated with repeating foliate motifs. The crest is surmounted with an elaborate carved cartouche and draped floral garlands, with additional scrolling ornament along the lower edge, all finished in an aged painted surface with gilt highlights. A dramatic decorative mirror well-suited for a mantel or over-console display, in the Rococo Revival taste. 63 in H x 48 in W Condition: Great condition, with typical surface wear consistent with age.
