Bidspirit auction | Four (4) Buffalo Nickels 1929,
Four (4) Buffalo Nickels 1929, 1935, 1936, 1937 Philadelphia Mint - Group of four Buffalo (Indian Head) nickels dated 1929, 1935, 1936, and 1937, all Philadelphia Mint issues. Designed by James Earle Fraser and struck in 75% copper and 25% nickel, each weighing 5.00 grams. These later-date Buffalo nickels represent the final decade of the series (1913?1938) and remain popular with type collectors and album builders. The 1936 and 1937 issues are noted for generally stronger strikes within the series, while the 1929 reflects the challenging early Depression-era production. Obverses display clear Native American portraits with visible dates; reverses show the American bison with readable legends and denomination. Surfaces exhibit natural circulated nickel-gray patina with moderate wear consistent with circulation. A solid representative grouping of late-series Buffalo nickels. Condition: Mixed circulated grades, approximately Very Good to Fine overall. Dates readable on all coins; moderate wear on hair braid, cheekbone, and bison shoulder. Typical contact marks and nickel toning present. Sold as a group of four.
