1898 Barber Dime - United States silver dime dated 1898, Barber type designed by Charles E. Barber. Obverse features Liberty head facing right wearing a laurel wreath and cap; reverse displays wreath encircling ONE DIME. Struck in .900 fine silver, weighing 2.50 grams and containing approximately 0.0723 troy ounces of silver.The 1898 issue, with a mintage of 19,635,000 pieces (Philadelphia, no mintmark), is a representative late-19th-century example of the popular Barber series (1892?1916).
