New England Painted Pine Lift-Top Tavern Table, Circa 1780–1820 - A late 18th to early 19th century New England painted pine lift-top tavern or work table, likely Massachusetts or Connecticut, retaining traces of original red wash. The oval “butterfly” hinged top opens to a deep interior well with side supports, above a single drawer, all raised on a trestle base with shaped feet. 29 in. H (closed), 59 in. H (top raised), 41 in. Dia Condition: Heavy surface wear consistent with age and use, including paint loss, abrasions, shrinkage, and minor separations. Structurally sound with expected wear to top and base.
