French Rococo Revival Carved Giltwood Mirror - A finely carved French Rococo Revival wall mirror, late 19th to early 20th century, executed in the Louis XV taste. The shaped rectangular frame is richly ornamented with flowing C-scrolls, pierced foliate carving, and floral rosettes, centered by an elaborate crest with scrolling acanthus and blossoms. The lower apron mirrors the upper crest with balanced rocaille ornament. 40 in. H, 73 in. W Condition: Surface wear to gilding with losses and rubbing throughout; scattered chips and minor losses to carving; mirror plate with age spotting, oxidation, and losses to silvering as visible.
