American Pine Chest Over Drawers, Southern, Early 19th Century - A well-proportioned early American chest over drawers constructed of richly grained pine, likely originating from the Southern or Mid-Atlantic region, circa 1820–1840. The upper section features a hinged lift lid opening to a spacious storage compartment, retaining its original interior configuration, while the lower case is fitted with two graduated drawers. The façade is distinguished by bold, linear grain patterns and simple turned wooden pulls. The case is raised on shaped bracket feet, and the drawer construction includes visible dovetail joinery. 43 in. H, 37.5 in. W, 19.5 in. D Condition: Wear consistent with age and use, including surface abrasions, shrinkage cracks, and areas of finish wear. Interior shows expected use. Drawer operation functional; structurally sound overall.
