English Inlaid Mahogany Bookcase, first quarter 19th century - A mahogany desk bookcase in two parts, the upper section opening to a fitted interior with small drawers and pigeonholes above three long graduated drawers, the cylinder inlaid with stylized urn-and-tulip motifs, the whole raised on a shaped bracket base. Oval brass pulls and escutcheons appear later. 70.5 in. H, 33 in. W, 19 in. D Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. Scattered veneer loss and chipping, most notably to the drawer fronts and edges, with surface scratching, finish wear, and minor separations at seams. Hardware appears later. Interior with expected age wear.
