American Classical Mahogany Work Table, New York, c. 1825–1840, school of Duncan Phyfe - A finely crafted American Classical work table, school of Duncan Phyfe, in figured mahogany, the rectangular top with drop leaves opening to a fitted interior drawer with compartments and writing surface, above a second drawer and suspended work bag. The case raised on turned column supports with gilt collars, joined by a stretcher and terminating in saber legs with brass paw feet and casters. The design reflects the refined New York school associated with Duncan Phyfe. 28 in. H, 20.5 in. W (38.5 in. extended), 18 in. D Condition: Excellent. Minor surface wear; interior with expected use; overall excellent presentation and structure.
