Heavily Carved Griffin-Form Sofa, in the Manner of R.J. Horner - An impressive and architecturally scaled carved wood sofa executed in the manner of R.J. Horner, featuring a richly ornamented crest rail with scrolling acanthus and central cartouche above a deeply tufted black leather back and seat. The boldly projecting arms are supported by fully carved griffin figures with outstretched wings, raised on stepped bases with carved detail. The apron is further decorated with continuous scrolling motifs. 45 in. H, 78 in. W, 23 in. D, 16 in. seat height Condition: Wear consistent with age and use, including surface wear and minor losses to carved elements. Leather upholstery with visible cracking, creasing, and wear but remains serviceable. Structurally sound.
