New England Queen Anne Mahogany Dish-Top Tea Table, in the manner of the Goddard/Townsend, RI School - A refined New England Queen Anne Federal period mahogany dish-top tea table, in the manner of the Goddard/Townsend school of Newport, Rhode Island, early 19th century, featuring a circular dished top supported on a finely turned pedestal with characteristic spiral urn and ring turnings, raised on a well-proportioned tripod base with cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. The underside retains the original tilt-top mechanism, allowing the top to be raised vertically. 28 in. H, 33 in. D Condition: Surface wear consistent with age and use, including scratches, minor edge wear, and scattered staining to the top. Expected wear to the tilt mechanism and support block; remains structurally sound.
