Southern American Classical Mahogany Sideboard, Possibly TN or KY, c.1830–1850 - A fine and substantial American Classical sideboard in richly figured mahogany, featuring a well-proportioned rectangular case surmounted by an original backsplash with raised shelf supported by turned columns. The case is fitted with a long frieze drawer retaining cut glass pulls, opening to reveal a fitted interior, above a double-door cabinet flanked by bold engaged columns with carved capitals. The doors are veneered in striking flame mahogany panels, centered by a vertical partition, and raised on compressed bun feet. 54 in. H, 64 in. W, 24 in. D Condition: Scattered surface wear, scratches, and finish inconsistencies consistent with age and use; minor veneer wear.
