Pair of French Louis XVI Style Giltwood Fauteuils, Palm Beach Estate of Liberace - Pair of French Louis XVI style giltwood fauteuils, late 19th to early 20th century, featuring rectangular backs surmounted by carved foliate crest rails and upholstered in a pale blue diamond-pattern fabric. The shaped arms terminate in carved masks above fluted supports, leading to a generous seat raised on fluted legs fitted with casters. The frames retain a soft gilt and painted finish, highlighting the carved details throughout. Provenance: From the Palm Beach estate of entertainer Liberace, known for his opulent interiors and theatrical design sensibility. 41 in. H, 27 in. W, 22.5 in. D, 15 in. seat height Condition: Wear to gilt and painted surfaces consistent with age and use, including rubbing and minor losses. Upholstery with visible wear and discoloration; usable but would benefit from reupholstery. Structurally sound.
