Chinese Blue and White Buddhist Covered Ritual Censer, Qing Dynasty - A Chinese blue and white porcelain covered censer of archaistic form, featuring a compressed globular body with projecting tab handles and a fitted domed cover. The exterior is decorated with bands of stylized waves, floral motifs, and bands of script inspired by Buddhist and Sanskrit characters, all rendered in underglaze cobalt blue. The interior of the cover is further decorated with a radial medallion incorporating symbolic motifs and calligraphic elements.
