Set of Seven American Empire Dining Chairs - A cohesive set of seven American Empire dining chairs, mid-19th century, crafted in mahogany with classic shield-form backs and shaped crest rails. Each chair features a carved and shaped splat, gracefully curved rear stiles, and sabre legs characteristic of the Empire period. The rich mahogany veneers display attractive figuring, particularly to the crest rails. Seats are upholstered in a red fabric with repeating gold star motif. 32 in. H, 18 in. W, 15 in. D Condition: Surface wear consistent with age and use; scattered scuffs and finish wear; upholstery appears later and shows light wear; frames generally sturdy.
