Pair of Chinese Pottery Vessels, Han Dynasty (206 B.C.–220 A.D.) - A compelling pair of Chinese earthenware vessels attributed to the Han dynasty, comprising a baluster-form vase with flared neck and applied ring handles, and a compressed globular jar with short collar and footed base. Both pieces exhibit characteristic Han-period forms and decorative vocabulary, including incised and painted surface motifs in earth-toned pigments. The surfaces display encrustation, wear, and patination consistent with age. Accompanied by Hong Kong Art Craft Merchants Association Certificates of Antiquity, including an example dated October 7, 1996 (No. KR-3; Certificate No. A247003), identifying the cocoon-form vessel as Han dynasty (206 B.C.–A.D. 221). Such certificates, issued in Hong Kong during the late 20th century, reflect period commercial authentication practices and accompany the present lot as part of its documented history.13 in. H, 8 in.
