American Empire Mahogany Sideboard - American Empire period mahogany sideboard, mid-19th century, of substantial rectangular form with shaped backsplash flanked by turned columnar supports, above a case fitted with a long frieze drawer and paneled cabinet doors opening to shelved storage. The façade is articulated with bold turned columns and paneled doors, raised on turned feet, reflecting the robust and architectural vocabulary of the Empire style. Retains a rich, dark surface with visible grain, and an old handwritten label to the reverse suggesting early provenance. 54 in H x 67 in W x 24 in D Condition: Surface wear, scuffing, and finish inconsistencies; shrinkage cracks and separations visible, particularly at joints; drawer functioning; interior wear from use; overall structurally sound.
