Set of Four American Rococo Revival Laminated Rosewood Side Chairs, Belter ”Rosalie Without Grapes” - A fine set of four American Rococo Revival laminated rosewood side chairs, attributed to John Henry Belter, in the desirable ”Rosalie Without Grapes” pattern, circa 1850-1860. Each chair features a shaped balloon back with molded serpentine frame, deeply carved floral crest, upholstered back panel, and serpentine upholstered seat over a carved floral seat rail. The frames are finely laminated and carved with graceful cabriole legs, scrolled knees, and brass casters. Upholstered in rich red and gold foliate damask fabric. Dimensions: 40 in. H, 19.5 in. W, 17 in. D; seat height 19 in. H. Condition: Very good antique condition overall. Upholstery is in excellent, usable condition with minimal visible wear. Laminated rosewood frames appear sound, with no major breaks or structural issues noted, only light scuffs, minor surface scratches, small finish wear, and expected age-related rubbing. Brass casters present.
