American Empire Mahogany Footstool - American Empire mahogany footstool, circa 1840-1850, having a rectangular upholstered cushion above a deeply molded mahogany base with bold stepped molding, block feet, and small casters. The stool relates closely to the Empire sofa and benches in form and scale, with a strong architectural base and rich dark mahogany finish. Upholstered in striped red, cream, and gold fabric. 12 in. H, 22 in. W, 16 in. D. Condition: Good antique condition with scattered surface wear, small abrasions, finish wear, and age-related marks to the mahogany frame. Upholstery presents well with minor wear and light soiling. Casters present.
