American Sheraton Mixed-Wood Two-Drawer Work Table, circa 1830 - A fine American Sheraton mixed-wood two-drawer work table or stand, circa 1830, with a rectangular overhanging top above two drawers faced in richly figured bird?s-eye maple or maple veneer, framed by contrasting darker mahogany or mahogany-stained borders. The case is flanked by carved vertical stiles with leafage detail, raised on four turned and spiral-carved legs ending in rounded feet. The drawers retain large turned wooden pulls and escutcheons. 29.5 in. H, 26 in. W, 18 in. D. Condition: Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear, including surface scratches, finish wear, scattered abrasions, shrinkage lines, veneer wear and small losses, particularly around drawer edges and case corners. Drawers show wear to secondary woods and interiors.
