The original composition by Antoon van Dyck is in the Mus?e du Louvre, Paris. This large painting bears a lower signature/inscription reading ?Francois Poussin.? Housed in a large gilt and ebonized frame. Accompanied by prior purchase documentation from Pippen?s Ltd. Antiques & Interiors, Natchez, Mississippi, dated April 19, 2007. From the Ormonde Plantation, Natchez, MS. Measures 70.5” H x 58.5” W x 3” D. Condition: Good condition overall, with glossy varnish, craquelure, scattered surface abrasions, minor surface grime, and possible older restoration. Canvas appears to have later/recent stretcher and backing support as photographed. Frame with expected age wear, scratches, rubbing, and minor losses.
