American Empire Gothic Wardrobe - American Empire Gothic wardrobe, circa 1840?1850, in mahogany and mahogany veneers, the tall case with projecting molded cornice above two paneled doors with pointed Gothic-arch panels, opening to a fitted interior with divided compartments, shelves, and two lower drawers. The case is raised on short turned feet and displays a strong architectural form with Gothic Revival influence, combining the bold proportions of the Empire period with pointed-arch paneling and practical fitted storage. Dimensions: 94 in. H, 53 in. W, 21.5 in. D. Condition: Antique condition with wear consistent with age and use, including surface wear, veneer repairs and losses, shrinkage cracks, scuffs, finish variation, interior wear, and other age-related imperfections.
