Classical Mahogany Chest of Drawers, Boston, circa 1820, Attr. to Thomas Seymour - A fine American Classical mahogany chest of drawers, attributed to Thomas Seymour, Boston, circa 1820, having a shaped gallery above a raised superstructure fitted with four short drawers, over a bowed case fitted with four long graduated drawers. The case is framed by bold spiral-carved and ring-turned engaged columns with turned front feet, shaped apron, fine line inlay, brass escutcheons, and handsome period-style brass pulls. The chest displays richly figured mahogany veneers with a deep, warm surface and refined proportions Condition: Presents very well overall with scattered surface wear, shrinkage, minor veneer and finish imperfections
