American Late Classical Mahogany Server, c. 1840 - American Late Classical mahogany server, circa 1840, having a raised gallery back with projecting rectangular side returns above a broad service surface, the case fitted with two upper drawers with rounded projecting drawer fronts and lion-mask ring pulls, over a pair of paneled cabinet doors. The front is distinguished by bold Classical scroll supports, cylindrical columnar elements, pronounced plinths, and scrolled feet, with highly figured mahogany veneers displaying strong flame and crotch grain. 44 in. H, 63 in. W, 24 in. D. Condition: Good condition overall.
