American Renaissance Revival Marquetry Cheval Mirror with Bronze Lion Mounts - American Renaissance Revival cheval mirror, late 19th century, an impressive full-length dressing mirror in richly finished walnut and burlwood veneers with geometric marquetry panels throughout. The rectangular mirror plate is set within a bold architectural frame with turned side standards, shaped broken-arch crest, central carved urn finial, and lower turned stretcher. The base is especially notable for its heavy projecting supports mounted with sculptural bronze or patinated metal recumbent lions. 84 in. H, 42 in. W, 27 in. D. Condition: Presents very well overall with scattered surface scratches, finish wear, minor veneer and edge wear, and age-related oxidation to the metal lion mounts. Mirror plate shows expected spotting, silvering wear, and light losses consistent with age.
