Empire Flame Mahogany Bookcase - American Empire bookcase, circa 1845, in richly figured flame mahogany and mahogany veneers, the rectangular case with bold molded cornice and shaped crest above a pair of glazed doors opening to an adjustable shelved interior, over a projecting base fitted with two drawers and raised on shaped bracket feet. The front displays strong matched flame mahogany figure across the cornice, door rails, stiles, and drawer fronts. Dimensions: 94 in. H, 53 in. W, 19 in. D. Condition: Good antique condition with wear consistent with age and use, including scattered veneer repairs, finish wear, scuffs, shrinkage cracks, minor losses, and wear to glass and drawer interiors.
