Pair of Renaissance Revival Carved Walnut Armchairs, Late 19th Century - Pair of Renaissance Revival carved walnut armchairs, late 19th century, each with tall architectural back centered by elaborate pierced carving with scrolling foliate ornament, mask-carved crest, acanthus and floral detail, and barley-twist side supports with turned finials. The arms terminate in carved animal-head supports above turned and carved front legs joined by stretchers. Each chair retains a dark, aged finish with later red patterned upholstered seat. 54 in. H, 25 in. W, 21 in. D, 20 in. seat height. Condition: Good antique condition overall with wear to finish, rubbing, scattered losses, abrasions, age cracks, and old repairs consistent with age and use. Upholstered seats present well with minor wear.
