Meeks, NY, c. 1835-1850 - American Classical mahogany center table, likely New York, mid-19th century, the circular figured mahogany top with radiating veneers and molded apron raised on a bold faceted and fluted column standard, above a shaped quadriform platform base with large scrolled feet and casters. The table has strong proportions, handsome flame mahogany figure, and the heavy architectural base. From Ormonde Plantation, Natchez, Mississippi. 39 in. H, 35 in. Diameter Condition: Good condition with age-appropriate wear, surface scratches, finish wear, small veneer separations, minor edge wear, and expected shrinkage. Casters present. Table appears refinished or with an older polished surface.
