Connecticut Federal Cherry Bowfront Chest of Drawers, circa 1800-1810 - A fine Connecticut Federal cherry bowfront chest of drawers, circa 1800-1810, retaining a handsome early surface and desirable full-height shaped bracket feet. The case is fitted with four graduated bowed drawers, each retaining oval brass pulls and brass escutcheons, above a shaped skirt with high arched bracket feet. The chest is constructed with cherry primary wood and chestnut secondary woods. 39 in H, 42 in W, 22 in D. Condition: Good overall condition with expected age shrinkage, surface wear, finish wear, minor abrasions, and scattered age cracks consistent with age and use. Feet retain good original height and do not appear cut down. Brasses appear original or period and appropriate to the piece.
