Conservation documentation from Hudson, Salah Art Conservation Studios, New Orleans, dated July 17, 2012, identifies the painting as oil on canvas, glue lined, with conservation including varnish removal, surface cleaning, reversible fill, inpainting, and varnishing. From Ormonde Plantation, Natchez, Mississippi. Canvas size approximately 58 in. H, 44.75 in. W; Frame size: 67 in. H, 55 in. W, 3 in. D. Condition: Painting has been glue lined and conserved, with conservation document noting overpaint and old repairs. Surface craquelure, scattered retouching, varnish, stretcher/frame wear, and age-related surface irregularities. Frame with expected gilt wear, shrinkage, small losses, and rubbing.
