Louis XV Style Marble-Top Sideboard / Buffet - Louis XV style marble-top sideboard or buffet, a substantial large-scale case piece with shaped serpentine front and conforming variegated marble top. The cabinet features four doors with highly figured burl veneer panels framed by contrasting banding, opening to side storage compartments and a central bank of fitted drawers, including a divided upper drawer. The piece is mounted with gilt-bronze or gilt-metal Rococo style hardware, corner mounts, escutcheons, shell-form accents, and an ornate scrolling apron raised on short cabriole feet. 39 in. H, 92 in. W, 24 in. D. Condition: Good overall condition with age and use wear, including scattered veneer and finish wear, surface scratches, oxidation and rubbing to gilt mounts, and expected wear to case and interior. Marble top appears substantial with attractive figuring and edge molding, with possible minor surface wear and natural inclusions.
