French Napoleon III Ebonized and Gilt-Bronze Mounted Display Cabinet, 19th Century - A fine French Napoleon III ebonized display cabinet, 19th century, richly decorated with gilt-bronze mounts and red-and-gold Boulle-style arabesque panels. The shaped rectangular case features a single glazed door opening to a shelved interior, framed by ornate gilt-bronze borders, foliate mounts, corner appliqu?s, and figural side ornaments. The upper frieze is inset with a red tortoiseshell-style decorative panel with scrolling brass inlay, below a bold gilt-bronze gallery molding. The cabinet is raised on a shaped plinth base with additional gilt mounts and retains a dramatic black, gold, and red decorative scheme. Dimensions: 45 in. H, 36.5 in. W, 15 in. D. Condition: Very good antique condition overall, especially compared to typical examples of this form. Light age-appropriate wear, minor scuffs, small losses, and expected rubbing to ebonized surfaces and gilt-bronze mounts. Glass front intact. Interior shelves present
