American Classical Mahogany Chest of Drawers - American Classical mahogany chest of drawers, circa 1830?1850, having a projecting rectangular top above a case fitted with four drawers, including a deep upper drawer over three graduated lower drawers. The front features richly figured mahogany veneers with strong flame and crotch grain, molded drawer surrounds, wooden pulls, and keyholes, flanked by bold half columns with carved leaf capitals, ring turnings, and spiral-carved lower sections. Raised on a projecting plinth base with large turned ball feet. The sides are paneled, and the rear retains paneled secondary construction. 48 in. H, 47 in. W, 23 in. D. Condition: Good antique condition with age-appropriate surface wear, shrinkage, veneer movement, scuffs, abrasions, finish wear, and scattered old repairs. Backboards show expected wear and oxidation. Some separation/checking visible at the case and top
