Chinese Blue and White Crackle Glaze Dragon Vase, Late Qing Dynasty, c. 1880 - Chinese blue and white crackle glaze vase, late Qing Dynasty, circa 1880, of baluster form with flared rim, decorated with blue underglaze foo lions/guardian lions and calligraphic-style motifs on a cream crackle ground. The vase is further embellished with applied brown-glazed relief bands at the shoulder, mouth, and foot, with applied branch-form and animal-form handles at the neck. Underside bears an impressed square mark. 17 in. H, 8 in. diameter. Condition: Good condition with age-appropriate crazing, glaze wear, firing imperfections, surface soiling, and rubbing to applied brown-glazed decoration. Minor rim roughness and glaze flakes noted.
