Rare Meriden Figural Silverplate and Art Glass Bride's Basket - Maker: Meriden Silverplate Company, Meriden, Connecticut Date: Circa 1890 Materials: Quadruple silverplate and art glass Form: Bride's basket Description: Rare Victorian Pairpoint quadruple silverplate and art glass bride's basket, the removable orange-red satin glass bowl with a ribbed body, pale blue interior, deeply ruffled rim, and gilt floral and foliate decoration. The bowl is supported on a circular pedestal between two opposing rampant lions holding scrolling shield-form ornaments, all raised on an elaborate trefoil base with gadrooned borders and foliate feet. The silverplate base is marked Pairpoint Mfg. Co., Quadruple Plate, and numbered 01528; the bowl bears handwritten factory or decorator's numerals. Dimensions: 9 in. H, 16 in. W, 11.5 in. D.
