Pair Bohemian Porcelain Mantel Lustres - Origin: Probably Bohemia Date: Circa 1890 Period/Style: Late Victorian Materials: Hand-painted porcelain, metallic silver-lustre glaze, gilt decoration, cut-glass prisms, and metal fittings Form: Pair of mantel lustre candlesticks Description: A decorative pair of probable Bohemian porcelain mantel lustre candlesticks. Each scalloped candle cup rises on a waisted green standard above a spreading lobed base. The cream and celadon-green bodies are ornamented with reflective silver-lustre oval reserves, delicate hand-painted flowers, and gilt highlights. Graduated cut-glass prisms, incorporating faceted buttons, notched pendants, and pointed spear drops, encircle each standard. Dimensions: 13.5 in. H, 6.23 in. Dia., each.
