English Regency Mahogany Tea Poy - Origin: England Date: Circa 1820-1830 Period/Style: Regency Materials: Mahogany and mahogany veneer, contrasting darkwood inlay, brass hardware, and fabric-lined interiors Form: Pedestal tea poy Description: English Regency mahogany tea poy, circa 1820-1830, having a rectangular hinged case decorated with contrasting darkwood line inlay, diamond reserves, corner motifs, and a central stylized fleur-de-lis. The fitted interior contains four covered compartments and two circular wells with red-lined interiors. The case is raised on a ring-turned pedestal terminating in four downswept legs fitted with brass paw-form caps and casters. Lion-mask ring handles are mounted at the sides. Dimensions: 27.5 in. H, 16 in. W, 11 in. D.
