Hartson depicting a sunlit clearing among the Berkshire Hills. A brilliant green meadow and winding earthen track lead toward layered blue-violet ridges, framed by wind-shaped trees and rocky ground beneath a softly clouded sky. Executed with vigorous, heavily worked brushstrokes and areas of impasto characteristic of a direct outdoor study. Signed Hartson at lower left and extensively inscribed on the reverse.
