The broad bowed seat has a serpentine apron centered by a carved acanthus spray. Bold cabriole front legs with oval cabochons and pendent foliage rise into open scrolling arms with padded rests. The tall upholstered back is enclosed by deeply molded C-scrolls and surmounted by a symmetrical palmette and scroll crest. The unusual three-leg construction, generous scale, and sculptural French-derived ornament distinguish this imposing parlor form. Dimensions: 43 in. H, 40 in. W, 32 in. D, 16 in. seat H.
