The monumental mirror superstructure incorporates pierced foliate scrollwork, a shield-form crest, incised decoration, and paired side shelves. Its interesting dressing arrangement combines a stationary arched mirror with a double-sided outer mirrored leaf carried on an accordion-hinged open frame, permitting multiple viewing angles when dressing the hair. The intermediary frame is intentionally unglazed and forms an integral part of the folding mechanism. Dimensions: 90 in. H, 43.5 in. W, 21 in. D. Condition: Presents attractively with scattered scratches, abrasions, finish variation, veneer shrinkage, minor separations, and small losses or old repairs consistent with age. The marble top exhibits staining, surface wear, edge abrasions, and minor chips. The mirror plates are intact, with expected spotting, clouding, and silver loss. Wear and losses are visible to portions of the mirror backing. The folding assembly is complete as photographed, and the open intermediary frame is intentional rather than evidence of missing glass.
