18th Century Connecticut Cherry Lowboy - Origin: Probably Connecticut Date: Circa 1750 Period/Style: American Queen Anne Materials: Cherry, secondary woods, and brass hardware Form: Dressing table or lowboy Description: An exceptionally early American Queen Anne Cherry Low Boy dressing table, probably Connecticut, circa 1750. The broad rectangular top has a molded edge above three short thumb-molded drawers fitted with shaped brass bail pulls. The case retains full-height drawer divisions and long wooden drawer supports extending through the interior to the backboard. An unusually fluid scroll-cut apron continues around the front and sides, raised on graceful cabriole legs ending in delicate pad-and-disk feet. Dimensions: 32 in. H, 31 in. W, 18 in. D.
