The architectural Renaissance Revival case has fluted pilasters, molded panels, turned finials, and extensive classical and foliate brass ornament. A 10-inch silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals surrounds an embossed metal center. The open well displays two rope-turned weights, chains, a figural back plaque, and an embossed pendulum bob decorated with putti and a lion. The eight-day, two-weight movement strikes the hour and half hour on a coiled gong. Although the movement is unsigned, the case and component arrangement closely correspond with documented examples of this Ansonia model. Dimensions: 86 in. H, 22 in. W, 12 in. D.
