Japy Freres Four-Glass Regulator Clock - Maker: Japy Freres & Cie, movement Origin: France Date: Circa 1890-1910 Materials: Brass, beveled glass, enamel, and steel Form: Four-glass or crystal regulator mantel clock Description: French brass four-glass mantel clock with a Japy Freres & Cie movement, circa 1890-1910. The oval architectural case has stepped moldings and curved beveled-glass panels displaying the movement and three-vial compensating-style pendulum. Its enamel dial is painted with delicate floral sprays and Arabic numerals, with subsidiary minute numerals at the quarters. The two-train movement strikes on a coiled gong and bears the circular Japy Freres award medallion stamp. Accompanied by a winding key. Dimensions: 9.5 in. H, 7.5 in. W, 6 in. D.
