109. Spanish ”girandole” earrings, ca. 1770-80 - Silver mount with floral motifs. Old cut diamonds. One of the earrings has two fastenings so it can be transformed into a pendant. Box by Soler y Cabot, tailor-made for this piece, suggests it may have been restored or modified. The inscription ‘Viuda de Francisco Cabot e Hijos’ (Widow of Francisco Cabot and Sons) suggests that it is from after 1899, when the jewellery business took on that name.
