Natural jadeite ‘Buddha’ necklace, Qing dynasty - A small pendant of carved natural jadeite, elegantly light in colour with greenish flecks of varying degrees of intensity. It shows the image of a large smiling Buddha, bare-chested, with a robe covering his legs, arranged in a lotus position. In his right hand he holds a sphere.
